Modern Sonic did Sonic 1, CD, 2, 3, Knuckles. Basically, we got a Zelda-style timeline split. When Sonic Generations came out they positioned Classic Sonic as 'from the past', but in Forces he is 'from another dimension', being the one from Mania.
